The free movement

We all like free!  Getting something for nothing is very sweet.

I took part in the Opendomain project as i got webloog.com.

WordPress.com is apart of that site as well and got this domain for free thanks to Ric Johnson.  The only agreement i had to make was to put a link on the bottom of each page to the opendomain project…easy enough!  Well WordPress.com isn’t working within that parameter and is not palcing that link there.

I think it’s really sad that Matt and the admin staff would choose to violate such an easy agreement and become “unreachable” to Ric and his numerous efforts to contact him on this.

If you want to read more about this i suggest visiting Ric’s wordpress.com site http://free.wordpress.com/2005/10/04/free/

  2. Matt likes to post ‘Why was my comment deleted?’ posts in weblogs that disagree with him in order to divert the thread onto the ‘censorship’ that has taken place. Then if you delete the comment he can *legitimately* accuse you of censorship. He’s done it on flocksucks.wordpress.com as well. Got to give the man credit, that is clever.

Yeah, it’s sad that Ric got screwed, but that’s life. It happens. Personally I would never have spent an undisclosed amount of money on securing a domain that was nothing to do with me, and if I did, I would not be naive/generous/dumb enough to transfer it to somebody else for free.
